The Proposal

The Flowers
On Saturday October 19, 2013 Andrew asked me to marry him, and here is how it happened. Andrew and I were planning on going to Hanover to check out the Christian bookstore. The Hanover Christian bookstore is the bookstore that we go to on our days off from working at Camp Cherith in Walkerton and they definitely have the most selection I've seen, so I was really excited to go and try to find a new devotion book. Andrew came to my house to pick me up and he brought with him red flowers. These red flowers were actually a really big deal because these were the first red flowers Andrew has ever bought me. He had been saving buying red flowers (A symbol of love and passion) until the day he proposed.

I put the flowers in a vase and then we headed out on our hour long drive to Hanover. We talked all the way there and stopped to get tea. This was actually one of my favourite drives with Andrew ever. When we got to the place where we should have turned, Andrew kept driving straight. He missed the turn for Hanover four times and then said, "Well since we are so close we might as well stop at camp and go walk around". Then I knew what was happening.

We parked outside of camp and walked onto the grounds. It was so quiet and beautiful. The leaves were all changing colours and it was a little bit rainy so everything smelled fresh. We walked to the air riflery range, where Andrew and I first met. We talked and reminisced about the first time we met and then Andrew got down on one knee, pulled out the ring I had been dreaming about and asked me to marry him. And I said YES!

We then walked around camp a little bit more and then headed to Hanover to go to the bookstore. Andrew had Coke (in classic glass bottles, of course!), Ruffles Chips, and three wedding magazines waiting for me hidden in the car. We talked and shopped and then drove back home. Once we were home we told our friends and family. It was such a great day and I would not have had it any other way.
